Assets and versions

Understand the asset model, version history, metadata records, sharing, and retention behavior.

Asset model

An asset is the durable creative object. A version is one saved state of that object, including image preview and generation recipe.

Asset

Stable container for a creative object or project output.

Version

Immutable save point with prompt, model, seed, and workflow.

Recipe

The fields needed to reproduce or continue the image.

Version history

Saving again with the same asset name or asset ID creates the next version. This keeps edits from overwriting previous recipes.

Metadata

Use metadata for everything that does not fit the top-level fields: sampler settings, semantic regions, masks, control images, quality scores, review status, or agent notes.

Sharing

Public share links are read-only. They are useful when collaborators need to inspect the image and metadata without receiving a workspace token.

Retention

Storage behavior depends on the configured backend and workspace settings. Keep production tokens scoped, rotate them when needed, and avoid storing credentials in metadata.
